Domaine le Couroulu Vacqueyras Cuvée Classique 2010
- Out of stock
Guy Ricard now has a first class assistant Jérôme, who is really helping this excellent domaine to regain its place in the first division of Vacqueyras. There are 10 hectares planted on the best terroir of the appellation with a soil similar to Châteauneuf then 3 hectares with a gravelly top soil. The vineyard is planted with 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 15% Mourvèdre producing a very low yield of between 30 and 35 hl/ha. Aged in large oak casks for two years before bottling. This big, spicy, robust, somewhat jammy wine represents exceptional value. It is an excellent match for grilled ribs, sausages, and steaks as well as roasts and stews of lamb, beef and game.
