Joseph Perrier Cuvee Royale Demi Sec
- Out of stock
The House of Champagne Joseph Perrier was established in 1825, has been under the ownership of the Pithois family since 1888 and is currently in the very capable hands of Jean-Claude Fourmon, a direct descendent of Paul Pithois. Joseph Perrier own 21 hectares of vineyards on the Northern Slopes of the Valle de la Marne, providing 30% of their production, and maintains relationships with growers that have been built up over generations - a combination which ensures consistency and quality. The house style is flavoursome and full-fruited but with considerable poise and elegance.
The Cuvee Royale Demi-Sec is the perfect option for people who find most Champagnes too dry for their tastes. Like the Cuvee Royale Brut it is a blend of 35% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier, with around 20% of the cuvee made up of reserve wine, aged in Joseph Perrier's cellars, which date back to Roman times, for at least 3 years after assemblage; however the higher 'dosage' used for the Demi-Sec produces a really juicy, fruit-packed style of Champagne with a sweet, biscuity finish.
