Moutard Cuvee des 6 Cepages Vintage 2007
- Out of stock
Most Champagne is produced from a blend, or cuvee, of three varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. A few houses also use a little Pinot Blanc; still fewer a little know grape called Arbane. Moutard are one of a tiny handful of Champagne houses to not only grow all six permitted varieties - that is the five mentioned above plus the now almost extinct Petit Meslier - but to produce tiny quantities of a vintage Champagne made from a cuvee of all six.
The result is a Champagne of great , and pretty much unique, complexity. Full-flavoured, toasty, with a crisp lemony acidity plus layer upon layer of subtle aromatics.
