Description
The Idiot does not follow the rules of convention; a fool to some, a genius to others. We embrace the unconventional and complex character of our shiraz. Not afraid to make a statement, this wine captures the playful, eccentric and unique elements of shiraz from our cool climate. The Idiot is dark garnet with a purple hue. This cool climate Shiraz is true to its region and variety. It has a fragrant bouquet with juicy red fruits and blueberry. The palate is succulent yet elegant. It has bountiful fruit and spice finishing with fine savoury tannins.
VINIFICATION
All grapes were destemmed and hand sorted. Berries were split and tipped into open vats for fermentation. Native yeasts carried out primary fermentation imparting layers and depth. During fermentation the wine was managed carefully to obtain balance and structure. The wine was pressed from its skins and seeds, and racked to oak for maturation. The wine was left to evolve in oak for 10 months before blending for bottling.

Online and Mail Order Purchases
We hope that you will enjoy your Steep Hill Wines purchase, but if you find it unsuitable or you are not entirely satisfied, please ensure that you notify us 01522 544737 or by email at enquiries@steephillwines.com to enable us to process your return. All such notification should take place within 28 days, to enable us to accept them for a refund. Replacement or refund will not be made until the original item has been returned to us unused and undamaged in their original packaging.
We cannot give refunds in the following cases:
- Items returned after 28 days.
- Damaged items not notified by telephone to us within 3 days.
Goods returned are at your own expense. We recommend that you use Recorded Delivery or a Courier so that you have proof of despatch.
