Tasting Notes:
A complex nose of tropical fruits such as pineapple and papaya, along with citrus notes of lime and quinine. Subtle hints of ginger and cardamom spice are present on the back palate and the 11 months ageing in new French oak enahnces the oily and creamy texture of this grape variety. A full-bodied wine that pairs perfectly with roast chicken and rich fish dishes.
About the Producer:
They have symbolised the river mist in their logo. Together with the surrounding mountains, one of the other great geographical influences on Shannon Vineyard’s meso-climate is the Palmiet River which forms the eastern boundary of the property. The Palmiet River starts high up in the surrounding mountain ranges. During the night, the cold air that is generated up at the mountain peaks drains down to the vineyards below shrouding them in a blanket of mist.
The cold morning mist drifting past epitomises the cool climate of Shannon Vineyards. The Palmiet River and its early morning mist are captured on their Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir wine labels honouring its contribution to their unique terroir.

Online and Mail Order Purchases
We hope that you will enjoy your Steep Hill Wines purchase, but if you find it unsuitable or you are not entirely satisfied, please ensure that you notify us 01522 544737 or by email at enquiries@steephillwines.com to enable us to process your return. All such notification should take place within 28 days, to enable us to accept them for a refund. Replacement or refund will not be made until the original item has been returned to us unused and undamaged in their original packaging.
We cannot give refunds in the following cases:
- Items returned after 28 days.
- Damaged items not notified by telephone to us within 3 days.
Goods returned are at your own expense. We recommend that you use Recorded Delivery or a Courier so that you have proof of despatch.
