Peter Lehmann Botrytis Semillon 2011 HALVES
This wine was inspired by Chief Winemaker Andrew Wigan’s visit to the iconic Château d’Yquem in 1981, home to one of the world’s greatest sweet wine. His time in their vineyards and winery inspired him to recreate the style in the Barossa. Barossa’s warm lingering summers offer ideal conditions for the “noble rot”, Botrytis Cinera. A small block next to the winery has been isolated specifically for this wine, showing the beauty and diversity of the Semillon grape. A beautiful bright gold colour which will deepen with bottle age. It has wonderful tropical fruit aromas with just a hint of citrus. It is a truly harmonious wine with a delicious lusciousness on the middle palate counterbalanced by tantalizingly complex acidity, the hallmark of botrytis wine.
