Serafin Gevrey-Chambertin 2004
The ultra-meticulous Christian Sérafin practices organic cultivation, hard pruning and ruthless fruit selection. Although the domaine is only six hectares in size it covers nine different appellations. Christian’s reserved manner conceals a passion for his métier and a very genuine warmth for those who share his passion. The wines are marked by their concentration, richness and stylish use of new oak. Seriously good wines. The fruits from several vineyards are blended to make this wonderful cuvée of Gevrey-Chambertin. The exuberant fruit on the nose belies the considerable elegance that shows through behind on the palate.
"Delicately soft and elegant on the palate. More savoury notes of game and leather appearing beneath the red cherry fruit. The acidity levels balance pleasantly with the fruit levels giving a very
long finish" - Ben, Store Manager - 14th June 2013
