Description
The winery is situated in the ancient town of Mad and there are eight hectares under vine in the "Grand Cru" Kiraly and Betsek areas, planted to Furmint, Harslevelu (Lindenleaf) and Muscat. It is owned by cellist Andras Bruhacs and two German fellow classical musicians. The vines average age is around 30 years old, producing extremely low yields. Winemaking, in the hands of local mayor Imre Galambosi, eschews modern, high-tech methods and relies on traditional vinification and barrel ageing. The Tokaji Aszú, 5 Puttonyos is a blend of 50% Furmint, 30% Lindenleaf & 20% Muscat. With 153 g/l residual sugar this is complex with vivid structure due to the high extraction. Fresh apricot, dried orange-lemon flavours. Excellent with fresh fruit tarts or foie gras.

Returns
Online and Mail Order Purchases
We hope that you will enjoy your Steep Hill Wines purchase, but if you find it unsuitable or you are not entirely satisfied, please ensure that you notify us 01522 544737 or by email at enquiries@steephillwines.com to enable us to process your return. All such notification should take place within 28 days, to enable us to accept them for a refund. Replacement or refund will not be made until the original item has been returned to us unused and undamaged in their original packaging.
We cannot give refunds in the following cases:
- Items returned after 28 days.
- Damaged items not notified by telephone to us within 3 days.
Goods returned are at your own expense. We recommend that you use Recorded Delivery or a Courier so that you have proof of despatch.
