Description
Saint Clair Pioneer Block wines are made from small parcels of outstanding fruit from specialist vineyard sites prized for their individual terroir characteristics. Doctor's creek vineyard situated south-west of the town of Blenheim has a Northerly aspect with devigourating clay soils . Doctor’s Creek , named after the original land owner, a well known doctor in the area , flows through the adjoining vineyard . Neal and Judy’s Ibbotson (Saint Clair owners) have successfully experimented with top grafting Pinot Noir (using Dijon clones) in this vineyard where the clay under the sub-soil provides some intense and interesting flavours. Other key varieties planted in this vineyard but on different soils are Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling.
Lifted delicate aromatics with red currant, raspberry, black current and spice. Round and full with lots of bright juicy fruits, raspberries, blackcurrant and ripe red cherry. The perfectly balanced acidity blends seamlessly with light powdered tannin and toasty oak. The finish is harmonious and rich which seams endless. Perfect for drinking immediately this wine will continue to develop for at least another five years. Perfect with medium rare venison or fillet steak.

Returns
Online and Mail Order Purchases
We hope that you will enjoy your Steep Hill Wines purchase, but if you find it unsuitable or you are not entirely satisfied, please ensure that you notify us 01522 544737 or by email at enquiries@steephillwines.com to enable us to process your return. All such notification should take place within 28 days, to enable us to accept them for a refund. Replacement or refund will not be made until the original item has been returned to us unused and undamaged in their original packaging.
We cannot give refunds in the following cases:
- Items returned after 28 days.
- Damaged items not notified by telephone to us within 3 days.
Goods returned are at your own expense. We recommend that you use Recorded Delivery or a Courier so that you have proof of despatch.
